Raul Bourgeois, a coach on Darien High School's freshman team, was arrested around 2 p.m. Thursday by Darien Police officers after being notified by the Waterbury Police Department, that he was believed to be on the campus, Darien Police said.

According to Waterbury police Deputy Chief Fred Spagnolo, the warrant and drug charges stemmed from a motor vehicle stop in Waterbury.

Darien police said that at no time were students at Darien High School at risk.

Darien High School did not immediately return phone calls regarding whether Bourgeois has been removed from his coaching position.

His Linkedin page says he is the owner of the Lacrosse Company in Darien which provides individual and small group lacrosse training, larger camps/clinics, and assistance with the college process and recruiting.

Police did not provide information about his bond.
